What Is A Standing Seam?

A raised joint between two sheets of metal deck that is made by turning up the adjacent steel deck panel edges and then folding, or interlocking, them in different ways.

How Standing Seam Works:

This type of fastening two metal deck sheets is done by folding over the near by touching edges.

Why Standing Seam Matters:

Steel deck panels that are fastened together add to the strength of the overall structure and prevent concrete or water from leaking through the metal deck. With a standing seam, it does not require the use of screws, pins, or welds.
